thefoodpawn is officially one month old!

Well, well…time passes so quickly. It’s been a month since thefoodpawn was first brought forth to the world close to midnight on 27 Jul 09 after hours of labour, and weighing in at a massive 3.8 MB (well, the photo at least). Conceived in the part of the mind (near the middle, slightly back, next to the section which stores Duran-Duran lyrics) where ideas sometimes seem to pop out divinely inspired, it is the consummation of one man’s love for food and photography (and writing).

How quickly they grow…*sniff*

wishing singapore a happy 44th birthday!

Well, well…it is Singapore’s 44th birthday today. Before the day is done, just thought I’d drop a post to commemorate this special day. Got lots of thoughts going through my mind about a middle-aged country and mid-life crisis, but that’s for another post, in another blog.

In honour of this occasion, and in the spirit of keeping with Singapore’s favourite past-time (no, not queueing up for 4D or Toto tickets), allow me to share one of its local favourites with you…mee goreng (or fried noodles, literally translated)!
