In the previous post, I mentioned going to Buckaroo which reminded me of Sunset Grill & Pub at Seletar Airbase. It would not be complete without a visit to Sunset for a comparison.

While I love taking photos of beautifully styled food, I guess this is what real food porn is all about…raw, in your face, slightly messy, almost obscene…appealing to Man’s most primal and base instinct…
Hunger.
(what were YOU thinking about?)

I just love smoked salmon…there are just so many things you can do with it. One of my favourites, though, is to just have it in a sandwich…

Ok…that wasn’t a really appetising title, but since i’m born in the year of the horse, it DOES make sense…errr…right?

The burger-bug bit me over the long weekend, so I thought I’d invite some friends over and whip up a batch of those bodacious beefy babies (not those store-bought “poor-excuse-for-a-burger” patties)…

Like mama always said, there’s nothing like a good hearty breakfast!
A couple of friends invited me over to their place for breakfast last week. Both husband and wife are great cooks, and though what they prepared was simple, it was simply delicioso!

It has been a long time since I had the time to cook. Since it was a long weekend, I decided to prepare dinner. I initially wanted to fire up the grill and do some yakitori type thing (inspired by dinner at Shin Kushiya last week, which was amazing by the way). I took some photos previously for a cookbook that some ladies in my church were doing, as part of an anniversary project. It was interesting, to say the least (i’ll leave that to your own interpretation).

I shot my own dinner…which is not quite the same as a woodsman shooting deer for his dinner.
Although I love red meat (i.e. beef, lamb, etc), you know that there is something not quite right when one’s choice for dinner is dictated by what one wants to shoot, photographically speaking (especially when one is supposed to cut down on one’s intake of red meat).

Since this is the first post in this blog, I decided to post something I prepared more recently, rather than dig into the archives of photos that I have. Not sure what inspired me to prepare this today. Maybe it was the simple way in which salmon can be prepared…oh yes…i remember now. I watched Jamie Oliver (or was it someone else?) on the Asian Food Channel preparing something with watercress sauce. Just throw in some watercress into a food processor with some sour cream, and voila! Although, in lieu of watercress, i opted to substitute with broccoli. The consistency and texture was nice, but the taste was…well, it tasted like broccoli with sour cream.
Why? What did you expect?
